Poppy Seed

Description:

Poppy seeds are gathered from the same plant that produces opium. The slightly larger, oilier, blush-black poppy seed and the small, creamy-white poppy seeds have a sweet, pleasant aroma and mild, nutty taste. Blue poppy seeds are stronger in flavor, especially after toasting. 

Applications:

Used as a savory flavor in breads and pastries.
